Green Policy

Sourcing our products:

Each of our products is sourced from manufacturers as locally as possible or from wholesalers who focus purely on environmental products.

Caddy's are made from recycled and recyclable polypropylene.

Product packaging is recyclable or reusable. We don't select items with layers of unncecesary packaging.

All products are chosen for their benefits to the user, being free from harmful chemicals both in the product and during manufacture as well as their benefit to the environment.

Each supplier is questioned and visited where possible to ensure that quality and environmental benefits are at the forefront of the product's and manufacturer's objectives. Where a visit is not possible, we do as much internet research as possible to ensure the product meets our green standards.

Packaging:

Cardboard boxes: are all recyclable.

Loosefill: This is starch based, making it biodegradable, compostable and soluble.

Jiffy bags: used for smaller items and are both recycled and recyclable material.

Bubble Wrap: again used very rarely but is recycled and recyclable.

Paper Bags: Heavy duty with string handles, used instead of boxes for fuel treatment at exhibitions to reduce materials used.

Carrier Bags: Compostable, used at exhibitions for other products. Unfortunately we have to put extra sticky tape around the base of boxes otherwise the boxes fall apart in transport, especially in wet weather.

Transportation:

Delivery: We use Fedex Couriers or Royal Mail to make deliveries on existing networks of transport.

Our Mileage: We use very little mileage running our business. Like many good businesses, we don't make unnecessary journeys and plan trips that accomplish several objectives together. Even car sharing where possible.

We also help reduce our environmental impact by:

Using email as much as possible for communication rather than printed material.

Using our own products. Very important point!

Buying local, organic, recycled or fair trade products as much as possible.

Keeping heating to a minimum at all times in the winter months.

Recycling/Composting as much card, paper, plastic, glass, food waste and textiles as possible.

Every little difference we make - will make a difference!
